Topographical Testing Centre

The Topographical Skills Assessment was bought into force in April 2006. The aim of the test is to analyse the applicants ability to read maps and to plan routes. The centre has been open since 2006 and we have conducted over 1000 tests since.

We carry out the tests every Wednesday from 11AM until 2PM. All tests are booked on an individual basis. For information on what the test involves please go to:

GENERAL INFORMATION

The test fee is £30. This includes basic training.

You will be using a London A - Z

90% of the test is a written exam.

You should bring any reading aides with you should you use them i.e reading glasses, magni fier, etc.

If you fail the test then there is an £10 charge for a re-test. This also includes basic training on the area or areas that you failed on.

You should turn up to appointment at least 10 minutes prior.

GENERAL TOPOGRAPHICAL SKILLS

You should have good reading and written skills in English.

The points of the compass: North, East, South and West

4 counties that border London i.e Kent, Essex, London & Surrey.

4 motorways that cross the M25 e.g M1, M11, M3, M4

4 major towns or airports outside of London e.g Gatwick, Manchester, Newbury, Milton Keynes.
